Many students are unaware of the full range of financial aid options available to them, missing out on opportunities to fund their education.
College access advisors often face overwhelming caseloads, limiting their ability to provide comprehensive college planning and support to each student.
Local scholarship providers frequently lack direct engagement with the students they aim to support, leading to missed opportunities for funding deserving candidates.
Our Founder, Jessica Johnson, started The Scholarship Academy in her dorm room at Howard University because she believed every student deserved an opportunity to pursue a debt-free degree. As a recipient of over $200,000 in scholarships, Jessica sought out to design one of the nation’s first curriculum-based scholarship preparatory programs that would address what we consider to be the three most pressing barriers to college affordability.
