Role Description

The Scholarship Academy (TSA) is a nonprofit organization, based in the Atlanta metropolitan area, that helps low-income students secure resources to pursue higher education opportunities with the least amount of debt.

This is a part-time role for a Financial Aid Events & Outreach Manager based on-site at TSA’s Atlanta office, with the opportunity for occasional remote work once you’re fully up to speed. You will fuel TSA’s mission by planning and executing high-impact financial-aid events, prospecting new partners, and mobilizing volunteers and staff to deliver immersive event experiences.

The position is perfect for an energetic event professional who excels at relationship-building and has hands-on knowledge of college access programming.

Compensation

This position is a 10-month (September 2025 – July 2026) AmeriCorps service program opportunity. AmeriCorps is a federal agency for national service and volunteerism. Members serve their country by addressing critical challenges and supporting community-focused initiatives. This is a part-time opportunity and you will receive a living allowance of $1,800 per month.

Requirements include:

– 10-month commitment (September 2025 – July 2026)

– Possess some college credit

– Interest in working with high school students and community organizations

– Have knowledge of college access and financial aid material

– Must be a US citizen, US national or lawful permanent resident

– Ability to clear state and federal background check and fingerprint screening

– Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to navigate in and around greater Atlanta

Specific Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination – ≈ 30 % 

  • Scope event requirements, draft run-of-show, coordinate material orders and printing, and plan event space layout. 
  • Align internal subject-matter experts and support staff for event support.
  • Schedule and facilitate prep sessions. 
  • Manage day-of-event execution.
  • Track event budgets and reconcile expenses.


Volunteer Management – ≈ 30 %
 

  • Recruit, onboard, and brief 8–10 volunteers per event (pipeline of repeat volunteers preferred). 
  • Build simple sign-up flows, shift schedules, and day-of check-in processes. 
  • Recognize and retain volunteers through post-event thank-you touchpoints. 


Opportunity Outreach & Partnerships – ≈ 20 %
 

  • Research and qualify new community partners. 
  • Conduct outreach via email, LinkedIn, calls, and in-person visits to schedule financial aid workshops, scholarship boot camps, etc. 
  • Updating and tracking records in Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Dynamics 365. 


Social Media & Promotion – ≈ 10 %
 

  • Draft short form copy, graphics, and reels that drive registrations and excitement. 
  • Live and post event highlights; tag partners and sponsors. 
  • Track reach and engagement to inform content tweaks. 


Post-Event Reporting – ≈ 10 %
 

  • Compile attendance and satisfaction-survey results. 
  • Deliver recap decks to partners within one week. 
  • Surface upsell opportunities for follow-on programming.

You’ll Be Great If You… 

  • Have 3+ years in event management, community outreach, or nonprofit program coordination—ideally within higher-ed, financial aid, or youth-serving spaces. 
  • Are a natural connector who enjoys cold-reaching new partners and turning “let’s talk” into scheduled events. 
  • Can juggle multiple timelines without dropping details; you live by checklists and Asana/ClickUp/Trello boards. 
  • Are comfortable leading volunteers and small staff teams on site, occasionally evenings or Saturdays. 
  • Write crisp social copy and know how to slice a Canva template into three strong Instagram frames. 
  • Bonus: Familiarity with FAFSA, scholarship processes, or The Scholarship Academy’s Virtual Scholarship Center platform.
